Drunkenness

You gotta love the drunkenness.

I'm not talking the run of the mill Ive-had-too-much-alcohol drunkenness. The other sort, the kind that leaves an indelible mark in your spirit that makes you say, "That was goooood" and makes you enjoy life a little more. Not like euphoria or just felling happy, but a little slower and less defined.

We are intoxicated every day to some measure, so make the most of it. After inhaling heaven knows how many toxins, you come to the realization that the planet is hurting, change is frustratingly slow, life is manipulated, and you still haven't bought that album that came out over a month ago. Depressing, huh? But hey, you're "healthy"

.

Face it! In the big scheme of things we (or must of us) deal boooring lives. The sort that aren't exactly spirit-full. ... We should all learn a bit from Thoreau's Walden, simple yet profound.

Green Wheels

We should be worrying about the enviroment, but lets face it, we are busy buying our next car... or at least looking for it. Aren't we a bunch of unconscious/ignorant/self-centered idiots.

TIME.com posted that even though gas prices are soaring, people remain looking for the not-so-fuel-efficient cars like Hummers. The statistic showed that compared to internet based searches for cars, Hummer outnumbers the new Toyota hybrid Prius more than 2 to 1.
.
Im not saying that more people will buy Hummers, big pretty toys dont come cheap, but it reflects what people are looking at and perhaps how ignorant they remain of the crisis at hand.
.
I dont understand though, why we are still looking at hybrids when we could go all in with ethanol fueled cars (like in Brazil) and reduce the cost, both economic and enviromental, of transportation.

I'm beginning to agree we some people that say that the rise in the cost of fuel is a good thing. It is perhaps the human masochist way of teaching ourselves the cost of our living, suffocating until we find an alternative. (That and perhaps some politics involved hehe)

LIVE EARTH

SAVE THE WORLD!!!

Well that's the message that some people have been trying to get out for some years now (Including Al Gore in "An Inconvenient Truth,) but it seems that some people respond more adequately to music, hence we have concerts called LIVE EARTH (much like Live Aid and Live8) as part of the "The Save our Selves campaign [which] was founded by Kevin Wall, who won an Emmy as Worldwide Executive Producer of Live 8." [2]

You can read about it more on CNN [1] and Washingtonpost.com [2]. It's been around the news and for good reason. Yes indeed, we are killing the planet (perhaps to save our own necks or make them more comfortable, but that doesn't change the fact that we are SCREWING UP)

Brief summary of the notes: the concerts will take place all around the globe during July 7 in an attempt to reach and audience of 2 billion. "The concerts mark the start of a new campaign called Save Our Selves, The Campaign for a Climate in Crisis." [1] "Proceeds will create a foundation to combat climate change led by The Alliance for Climate Protection, which is chaired by former Vice President Al Gore." [1] It is designed as a mass persuasion exercise and will cover cities world wide including, perhaps, Antarctica. [2] Many bands are joining the cause and modifying their agendas to participate including: RHCP, Foo Fighters, Keane, Fall Out Boy, AFI and more. [2]

Most importantly, if you wish to enjoy the music, "The concerts will be streamed by MSN, the Microsoft Internet portal, and broadcast by NBC. The satellite radio groups Sirius and XM will feature the shows." [2]
